About Telemetry Associates

As the name suggests, Telemetry Associates Ltd originated as an organisation focused on telemetry systems. This rapidly developed so that the primary focus was on Automated Meter Reading, AMR, where TAL provided consultancy to Utility organisations, other major corporates and to European Government departments. As AMR technology developed and its links with the Internet and the Automated or Connected Home developed, so too did TAL's business. Today TAL still covers the basic building blocks of AMR and associated systems but the primary focus has moved on to the Connected Home. We provide consultancy and other services to the growing industry, helping Utility organisations, other major corporates and European Government departments develop the marketplace for the Connected Home by working on feasibility studies, developing standards, developing core architectures, and managing trials and other implementations.

TAL has a simple philosophy,

  • be at the forefront of the developing technologies and markets,
  • find some of the best exponents in the market and band them together as Associates,
  • keep administrative costs and effort to the minimum so that the expertise can be freed to bring value to the client.

How Telemetry Associates Limited is organised.

Telemetry Associates is a consultancy that is arranged as a grouping of many Associate Consultants who carry out work for the organisation. These business and technology oriented expert consultants cover a very wide range of experience and knowledge in almost all areas of the ICT sector - in fact from Ergonomics to Electronics Design.

They are active in projects such as The Application Home Initiative (TAHI), The CENELEC SmartHouse project, other EU Projects such as TEAHA and Local Authority projects in the UK.Telemetry Associates operate the Secretariat of TAHI and are the managing editor of SmartHouse in which a number of Associates are involved.

Our Associates have contributed to the TAHI Open Architecture and the Modelling work being carried out by TAHI to deliver an understanding of the synergistic values of Aggregating services to the home.
